Hi everyone.

I know this is mainly a German speaking forum, but a few friends have recommended that I check this place out over the years. Lots of nice and interesting things going on from what I can see. So, hopefully it's okay for me to participate too. I don't speak any German at all, but I do speak Pepper fairly fluently.

I'm very interested in wilds. Especially hoping to find Tovarii seeds. Also a big fan of mutants. Searching for Pimento Del Deserto seeds there.

Here's my list of my plants this year along with some photos below.

Hi Matt,
of course you are welcome to participate.
Looks like you got your capsaicin demand covered.
Quite an impressive list of varieties you have there.

Unfortunately I can't help you with wilds. But the mutant you mentionend might be called "candlelight mutant" in this forum.
Judging from the pictures it might be a different mutant, but most certainly the same kind of mutation. But check for yourself: click

May I ask where you are located?

kind regards

Miscalias

Hey Miscalias,

Thank you for the reply :) I did not see that thread earlier, so thank you for that too. Seems quite a few guys are growing it here.
I have some Mutant Candlelight growing right now. Here are my 3 biggest ones I put outside a couple weeks ago.

From what I have seen, Pimento Del Deserto gets much larger than this Candlelight mutant. I think I will attempt making some crosses from these (they are flowering right now) and see what develops.

I am from Indiana, in the US.

Cheers,
Matt

Hi and welcome,

I am pretty new here as well. I grew up with Americans abroad in Asia. Lots of my buddies are from all over the US. Sadly enough I never met chile growers. But as you can see I have been to Hatch, NM. Not as great as advertised but I still liked the idea of such a Chile Festival. Next time I get close I have to check out the Chile Pepper Institute, missed that one the last time. I hope you'll have the best of seasons this year, good luck! Really impressive amount of different species you are growing there.

Greetz,

Werner - Munich, Bavaria
