New blog

Hello Joy,

nice blog. Some really helpful hints in there. Sandwich-Gardening sounds yummy ... and sure is ... for the plants and the lucky guy who harvests. :D Btw your Sandwich reminds me of what the Germans call "Hügelbeet" (not to be confused with "Hochbeet").

Hi Maya,
thanks for viewing the blog and good to know that some useful hints are there.
Do you mean about hugelkultur? Actually the first bed picture you saw, that one contains quite a lot old dried branches. As that is carbon layer i put lot of used coffee grounds from my office canteen [they produce lot compare to my usage :) ] as nitrogen counterpart. lets see how things will be.
cheers,
joy

PS: the new blog entry is about to get FREE heirloom seeds from USA department of agriculture. Hope that you will find some time to read that.

here is the blog about getting free heirloom seeds from US department of agriculture:

happy reading and if you like please share it.
Thanks

You may be interested to learn about the IPK a somewhat similiar institution in Germany. You can get free seeds there, but you can't search especially for heirloom seeds. Searching in this database is quite different and a little bit on the complicated side. :whistling:

PS: I like your idea of using the coffee grounds of the office canteen ... nice bit of recycling. :D

On Monday I'll go robbing our canteen: this is a biowaste robbery, hand over coffee grounds and tea bags immediately.:P

Signed documents are no longer required. ;) When you place your order online, you'll just tick a box to agree with SMTA and the additional Agreement. If you want to read the documents before placing an order, you'll find both documents (in english) here

India Food :w00t: can't wait ... *mouth-watering*

Thanks again for the info.

Somehow managed to put first recipe. it's always easier to cook than documenting/blogging it :)
