This year's Orchid Show was, as usual, a great exhibition of orchid species and hybrids. The show was held in Kingston from 29th to 30th March 2014, the organizer was our Jamaica Orchid Society of which I became a member some years ago.
The show saw guest speakers from the American Orchid Society (AOS) and there were educative and interesting participations from our own members, as well. The show was well organized and did not lack exhibits, features, food and soul. However, I feel if the show would have held at the begin of a month, many visitors could have purchased much more than they did this time at the end of the month. This would be my only suggestion for the show organizers. Among many other local groups and companies, the Montego Bay Orchid Society and the Ocho Rios Orchid Society were well represented, too. Nominations and prizes were given for best display and other features. The staff was competent and friendly.
I visited the show and made over 180 photos. This video is a compilation of these photos. Each original photo measures 3072 x 2304 pixels, many show a lot of details of the orchids. If you want to get all high-resolution photos of the orchids on a DVD, simply contact me.
